Preparation | The laboratory is prepared by heating pure calcium carbonate to 1000°C in a stream of hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen. Coarse calcium sulfide is made by reducing calcium sulfate powder with coke or wood chips at high temperature. |
sulfide depilating agent | chemical depilating agent is a depilating agent that can soften hair and lower hair strength, and can wipe off or wash off hair within 2~6min. Because the composition of the hair is similar to that of the skin, chemical hair removal agents will inevitably damage the skin, so the hair removal agent is listed as a special purpose cosmetic. Sulfide hair removal agent is the earliest hair removal agent used. The main disadvantage of this type of depilatory agent is that it has an unpleasant smell, sulfide is easy to oxidize, forming yellow polysulfide, which loses activity and increases odor, and sulfide is easy to produce hydrogen sulfide, which is toxic. However, because sulfide hair removal agents are more effective and lower in cost, they are still used in history. In recent years, it has begun to be replaced by thioglycolate. The most commonly used sulfides include sulfides and sulfides of sodium, potassium, calcium, strontium, barium. Alkali metal sulfides are highly alkaline and easy to hydrolyze, and are rarely used nowadays. Alkaline earth metal sulfides are also hydrolyzed to form hydroxides. Calcium hydroxide is slightly soluble in water, barium hydroxide is easily soluble in water. Calcium sulfide has the lowest alkalinity, strontium sulfide is in the middle, and barium sulfide has the strongest alkalinity. Barium sulfide hair removal is more effective than calcium sulfide. Due to the toxicity of barium sulfide, some countries (such as the United Kingdom) have banned it. At present, the most commonly used sulfide is strontium sulfide. Strontium sulfide is a milder depilating agent, but a higher concentration can achieve better results. If the formula is suitable, it is also very effective, and it will take effect within 3~5min after application. |
